A Week to Remember: New Lake Record 

Every so often a week comes along that has the lot, big fish, big numbers, and the kind of moment you couldn't write if you tried. This was one of them.

Daz, Mark and Matty joined us for what turned out to be a proper week's fishing, banking 41 carp between the three of them. But it was Daz who wrote his name into the Genêts history books.

A NEW LAKE RECORD: 58lb 13oz

Daz didn't just smash his personal best, he set a new lake record for our time here at Genêts, banking a magnificent mirror at 58lb 13oz. A serious, serious lump, and a fish none of us will forget in a hurry.

MARKS' HAUL OF A LIFETIME

Not to be outdone, Mark put together a week's fishing most anglers only dream of. 28 carp landed, including three fifties, six forties and eleven thirties. In his own words, it was the best week's fishing he's ever had in France and every one of those fish was thoroughly earned.

"THAT'S THE ONE I CAME FOR"

Then there was Matty. He pointed at the ghost carp on the wall in the clubhouse, said "that's the one I came for" and then went and caught it. 32lb of pure class. Sometimes the fishing gods are listening.

CONDITIONS

It was a chilly week with a cold wind, but the sunny afternoons got the fish moving, and the lads were ready for them every time.

Top week, top angling, top blokes. This is exactly why we do what we do.

We're so lucky to be able to look after this lake and its fish and that's our job for years to come, keeping them healthy and growing. With lots moree hard graft and care, we reckon the best is still to come.
