Booking Terms & Conditions
We know this isn't the exciting bit about your holiday, but just a quick read so we're all on the same page!
Your Booking With Us
All holidays run Saturday to Saturday.
To confirm your booking, just pay a £300 deposit. This holds your week and we can't usually refund it or transfer it, but get in touch and we'll always try and see what we can do for you.
Your full balance is due 10 weeks before your holiday starts. We'll be in touch to remind you so you don't need to worry about that. If you want to pay in chunks rather than all at once, that's fine too - just let us know and we'll organise that together.
If you're booking less than 10 weeks before your holiday starts, you just pay the full amount when you book.
Payments are by card (via Stripe) or bank transfer.
If You Need to Cancel
More than 10 weeks before your holiday: You get everything back except the £300 deposit. If you'd prefer to move to a different week instead, get in touch and we'll see what we can do for you.
Less than 10 weeks before your holiday: We're really sorry, but because we can't fill late cancellations, you'll lose your money. Check your travel insurance as this is usually covered by them.
Insurance - Please Get It!
We know no one wants to think about these things, but then you know you're covered for everything - cancellations, medical costs, personal belongings all the important stuff.
You'll also need a valid GHIC (Global Health Insurance Card) for medical emergencies in France. You can apply for free at nhs.uk (takes about 10 days to arrive). This covers emergency healthcare at the same cost as French residents, but you'll still need travel insurance for things like repatriation or non-urgent care.
Travel
We know things can go wrong with travel - ferries, strikes, traffic jams. We know we already said it, but please get the insurance (we know it's typical - if you get it you don't use it, but if you don't and something goes wrong, it ends up being really expensive!). If you do arrive late, the cost of the holiday is still the same, but just give us a shout so we know you're on your way!
Passports
Before you travel, make sure you have at least 6 months left on your passport.
Who Can Come:
The person who books needs to be over 18 and booking on behalf of everyone in your group.
Young anglers (under 18) are welcome as part of your group - they should always fish with an adult.
If you're thinking of bringing young children who aren't fishing, have a chat with us first to make sure this is the right venue for your holiday - it is a fishing lake after all!
Lake Rules
When you book, that means you need to stick to our lake rules, so please have a read and make sure they work for you (they're on the website, in the Anglers Clubhouse, and at the swims). We never want to do this, but if the rules aren't followed, we'll have to ask you to pack up and leave without a refund.
If There Are Any Problems During Your Stay
We're not expecting any, but if there are, please tell us so we can fix it for you, as we won't be able to after you've left. We're here on site all the time, so just chat to us about anything you need to - we'd rather know and put it right for you if something isn't what you expected.
The Legal Bit
There are some legal things we need to say, just to make sure everyone's covered - sorry if it's a bit boring, we've tried to keep it short and sweet!
If we have to cancel your holiday or can't provide what we promised (for reasons within our control), we'll only be liable up to the amount you paid for your holiday. Basically, we can't be responsible for more than what you paid us - so we wouldn't cover things like your ferry costs, hotels, or time off work.
There's a term called "force majeure" - you've probably seen it in insurance policies. It basically means we're not responsible for anything outside our control, like: fire, storm, flood, weather, transport problems, strikes, political unrest, war, pandemics, or any other event we can't prevent.
